The Post 9/11 (Chapter 33) Bill went into effect on August 1, 2009. The latest information about it can be found at

Documents needed for Chapter 33 (If you have never used benefits before, you will need the following documents to compete your file in the VA office)
- 22-1990 application--The website to complete the form is http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-22-1990-ARE.pdf. You will receive a Certificate of Eligibility form in 4-6 weeks from VA. Please bring the Certificate of Eligibility form to our office.
- DD 214 member 4 (Release from active duty)
- Copy of your military transcripts
- Official degree audit report (DAR)--signed copy can be obtained from the department or college academic advisor for your major.
