*The deadlines for the GI Bills are established to allow processing time for student’s benefits at Texas State University and the Muskogee Regional Office.  GI Bills may be processed after these dates however, we cannot guarantee that students who receive internal credits for tuition (Chapter 33 Post 9/11 and Chapter 31 Vocational Rehab) will be applied if documentation is received after these dates in time for payment of the upcoming semester; resulting in the student paying tuition upfront and being reimbursed at a later date.  Students should also be aware that the Muskogee Regional Office has incredible amount of volume during the beginning of the semesters and it is in the student’s best interest to submit their documentation as early as possible to avoid delays in housing and book stipends.

Veterans Visit Day (VVD) on Friday, May 17, 2013

The Office of Undergraduate Admission at Texas State University, in collaboration with its Veterans Affairs Office, is hosting its third consecutive Veterans Visit Day (VVD) on Friday, May 17, 2013.  A half-day event (12:30-3:00 pm), VVD features a slate of information-sharing sessions for veterans interested in returning to college and for those who are will be entering as first-time college students.  Representatives from undergraduate admission, veterans affairs, financial aid, academic advising and from our own veterans organization will be on hand to present, answer questions, and interact.

So that we can better plan for VVD, we are asking that students pre-register.  Please direct interested students to www.admissions.txstate.edu/visit/veteran-visit-day.html to reserve their place at this event.  This event is free, and families and guests are welcome.  Questions regarding Veterans Visit Day should be directed to Stacey Boswell at 512-245-8871 (ssparks@txstate.edu) or J. Carlos Laird at 512-245-7440 (jl20@txstate.edu).
